DAY 1 — Don't Forget the Garden

Theme: Don't become so focused on what you don't have that you forget what God has already given you.
Have you ever noticed how one thing can change your perspective on everything?
You might be having a great day until one frustrating conversation ruins your mood. You might be perfectly content with what you have until you see something someone else owns. Suddenly, what was enough yesterday doesn't seem like enough today.
That's exactly where the enemy began in the Garden of Eden.
Before God ever told Adam and Eve what they couldn't have, He showed them everything they could enjoy. God placed them in a beautiful garden filled with provision, purpose, and freedom. In Genesis 2:16, God told Adam, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden."
God began with generosity.
But when the serpent entered the picture, he shifted Eve's attention away from everything God had provided and toward the one thing God had forbidden.
The garden hadn't changed. God's goodness hadn't changed. Only the focus had changed.
And sometimes we do the same thing.
We become so consumed with the opportunity we didn't get, the prayer that hasn't been answered, or the thing someone else has that we overlook the countless ways God has already been faithful.
Don't let one tree make you forget the whole garden.
Gratitude helps us recognize what deception wants us to overlook. When we intentionally remember God's goodness, we begin seeing our circumstances differently.

Reflection Questions:
1. What is one thing you've been focusing on that you don't have?
2. What are three ways God has already provided for you that you may have overlooked?
Today's Challenge: Write down five things you're thankful for. Be specific. Take a moment to thank God for each one.

Prayer
Father, forgive me for the times I've focused more on what I lack than on what You've provided. Open my eyes to Your goodness and help me live with a grateful heart. Amen.
