Uncomfortable: Day 2

Theme: When life gets uncomfortable, we often assume that what we have is not enough. But God’s Word reminds us that “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life...” (2 Peter 1:3).
In 2 Kings 4, Elisha asks the widow what she has in her house. Her response is honest and revealing: “nothing at all...except a small jar of olive oil.” From her perspective, what she had seemed like nothing. But anything placed in God’s hands is never insignificant. God took what she dismissed as too small and used it to provide more than enough to meet her need.
        Sometimes we are just like the woman in this story. We become uncomfortable with what we already have because it does not seem like enough. We may minimize our gifts, overlook our resources, or believe our current capacity is too small to matter. But God wants us to become comfortable with what He has already placed in our hands. In His hands, who we are and what we have can become more than enough.

Lord, help me recognize and trust what You have already given me. When I am tempted to believe that my gifts, resources, or capacity are too small, remind me that nothing is insignificant in Your hands. Teach me to stop dismissing what You have provided and to offer it back to You in faith. Use what I have for Your purpose, and help me believe that with You, it is enough. In Jesus’ name, amen.
